Traveling Superintendent

About the role

Alston Construction is seeking a Traveling Superintendent to lead onsite personnel and subcontractors, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and oversee all onsite activities to meet project goals and timelines.
• Maintain a complete and accurate set of as‑built drawings and project documents.
• Coordinate subcontractors proactively to keep the project on schedule and avoid additional costs.
• Monitor subcontractor performance for compliance with construction standards, codes, safety, and quality requirements.
• Manage project set‑up, including trailers, equipment, signage, PPE, and other site necessities.
• Prepare accurate daily reports covering weather, manpower, safety logs, and equipment usage.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading onsite construction teams and managing subcontractors.
• Strong working knowledge of project plans, specifications, contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, shop drawings, and submittals.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills with a focus on safety and quality.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents and ensure compliance with all relevant codes and standards.

Required skills

• Knowledge of construction plans and specifications.
• Understanding of construction contracts and subcontract administration.
• Ability to read and manage shop drawings and submittals.
