Travel Network Engineer – Onsite Customer Sites

About the role

PEAKE is seeking a motivated Network Engineer to work 100% onsite at customer locations throughout California. The role involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting enterprise networking and communication systems while collaborating closely with senior engineers and project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead hands‑on installation and setup of networking equipment, including rack‑and‑stack, cabling, labeling, power‑up, and testing.
• Diagnose and resolve complex issues across routers, switches, and overall network connectivity, documenting and escalating as needed.
• Partner with senior engineers and project leads to design and deliver end‑to‑end network solutions that meet technical standards.
• Act as primary technical point of contact for customers, providing clear status updates, risk communication, and resolution plans.
• Maintain accurate configuration records, service documentation, and produce technical reports for decision‑making.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience with Cisco and/or Aruba platforms in enterprise or DoW environments.
• Strong expertise in physical infrastructure: cabling, racking, stacking, and power configuration.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills across the OSI 7‑layer model.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to explain technical issues to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Active DoW security clearance.
