About the role
The Trauma Registrar supports the Lehigh Valley Health Network by managing clinical data for trauma patients. This remote position ensures accurate data abstraction, entry, and reporting in compliance with the Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation.
Key responsibilities
- Abstract and submit required data elements into the Collector system as required by PTSF.
- Identify and flag trauma patients in the EPIC system and compile data following NTDS and NTRACS guidelines.
- Collect pre‑ and post‑discharge records, complete abstracts from admission to discharge, and communicate audit findings to the Trauma Team.
Required profile
- High School Diploma/GED with at least 1 year experience in a health‑care related field, abstracting clinical information, or billing/coding.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lb and perform occasional physical tasks such as kneeling or bending.
Required skills
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system.
- Experience with ICD‑10 coding.
- Strong Windows computer and data‑entry skills.
