Transportation Logistics Manager

About the role

Europastry USA is looking for a results‑driven Transportation Logistics Manager to lead and optimise the movement of frozen and fresh bakery products across its U.S. network and to coordinate international container shipments from Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee inbound and outbound logistics for plant locations in New York, New Jersey and South Carolina, ensuring timely delivery of raw materials and finished goods.
• Manage distribution of temperature‑controlled bakery products, optimise routing, load planning and freight consolidation to reduce costs.
• Address delivery disruptions, plant downtime impacts and customer service risks proactively.
• Coordinate end‑to‑end transit of container shipments from Central Europe to U.S. ports, working with freight forwarders, ocean carriers and customs brokers.
• Ensure customs clearance, proper documentation and compliance with FDA, USDA and CBP regulations.
• Monitor container tracking, port delays, demurrage/detention and inland transportation to final delivery points.
• Negotiate freight rates, establish KPIs and SLAs for carriers and 3PL providers, and resolve service failures.
• Collaborate with Planning, Procurement, Customer Service, Warehouses and Plant Leadership to align logistics execution with production schedules and demand.

Required profile

• Proven experience in transportation and distribution management within a manufacturing or food‑service environment.
• Strong knowledge of international import regulations (FDA, USDA, CBP) and customs clearance processes.
• Ability to analyse logistics data, audit invoices and implement cost‑saving initiatives.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills to coordinate across multiple internal teams and external partners.
