Transportation Engineering Manager

About the role

Horrocks is seeking a Transportation Engineering Manager to lead and grow its New Mexico transportation practice. You will shape the team, influence practice direction, and deliver high‑quality roadway, drainage, and traffic projects for public and private clients.

Key responsibilities

• Build, lead, and manage a multidisciplinary team of transportation design engineers.
• Coordinate with project managers, designers, technicians, and support staff to staff and deliver projects on time and on budget.
• Forecast workload, mentor junior staff, and identify future leaders.
• Oversee design and analysis of freeways, interstates, interchanges, and urban/rural roadways.
• Prepare studies, reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Support client relationships and collaborate with the Business Development team on new opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
• 12+ years of professional experience in transportation engineering.
• Proven project management, client‑facing, and leadership experience.
• Experience with New Mexico DOT or municipal standards is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
