Transportation Associate

About the role

Amazon is looking for a Transportation Associate to support its yard operations. You will move trailers, coordinate yard traffic, and ensure safe, on‑time movement of equipment across the site.

Key responsibilities

• Perform trailer moves and coordinate yard activities such as check‑ins, traffic flow, and internal communications.
• Conduct yard audits, complete driver training programs and operate various vehicle types, including hostlers and day cabs.
• Maintain safety standards, enforce policies for all yard users, and complete vehicle inspection reports.
• Learn and apply Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, including size, weight, route designations, and reporting requirements.
• Track working hours, breaks, and follow hostler/delivery schedules in compliance with Amazon and federal regulations.
• Support site operations, internal transportation teams, and external carriers to ensure zero‑defect trailer arrivals and departures.
• Serve as a peer trainer or assist at nearby sites as business needs arise.

Required profile

• Commitment to safety and adherence to company and DOT rules.
• Ability to operate Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMVs) on non‑public roads and within the yard.
• Willingness to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) if required.
• Strong attention to detail for vehicle inspections and documentation.
