Transcript Specialist I

About the role

The Georgia Student Finance Commission is seeking a detail‑oriented Transcript Specialist I to support the HOPE Scholarship and Grant programs. This full‑time position works within the commission’s office in Tucker, providing front‑line assistance to high schools and post‑secondary institutions.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for High School Transcript processes (STARS/TES) and Postsecondary Eligibility systems (CHECS/PSI).
• Respond to inquiries via phone, email, and web‑based systems, delivering accurate and professional communication.
• Review, evaluate, and process high school and post‑secondary transcript data for accuracy and completeness.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve data discrepancies, file errors, and rejected records.
• Perform data corrections and updates according to established policies.
• Support manual processing of out‑of‑state or home‑study transcripts.
• Provide client‑facing technical and functional support for GAfutures High School and Postsecondary functions.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and customer‑service orientation.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple inquiries.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working with educational data or scholarship programs is a plus.

Required skills

• Familiarity with STARS (Student Transcript Automated Reporting System).
• Experience using CHECS (College/High‑school Eligibility Checking System) and PSI.
• Proficiency in GAfutures portal functions.
