Training Instructor – Production Resources Division

About the role

The Department of the Navy is seeking a Training Instructor to join the Production Resources/Facilities & Maintenance Training Division at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality instruction to support shipyard operations and ensuring a safe, effective learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain training schedules and lesson plans aligned with course objectives.
• Adapt training materials and plans to meet the needs and composition of each class.
• Encourage strong attendance, participation, and conduct among trainees.
• Maintain accurate training records and generate comprehensive training reports.
• Promote and enforce safe work practices and use of personal protective equipment.
• Conduct training research for budgeting and quality assurance purposes.

Required profile

• U.S. citizen and eligible for federal employment.
• Pass E‑Verify verification and meet time‑in‑grade requirements.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an interim or final security clearance.
• Willingness to work in environments with physical and chemical hazards and to participate in medical surveillance programs.
• Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally and to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
