Training & Development Specialist (AL)

About the role

The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is seeking a Training & Development Specialist (AL) to support learning initiatives at the Georgia Regional Hospital – Atlanta in Decatur, GA. This role will design, deliver, and evaluate training programs that enhance employee performance and support agency goals.

Key responsibilities

• Assess employee and organizational training needs.
• Develop and deliver instructor‑led and other training programs.
• Create training materials, presentations, course content, testing materials, and instructional resources.
• Coordinate training sessions and learning activities.
• Conduct research to develop appropriate training programs.
• Update existing training materials, policies, procedures, and course content.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and measure learning outcomes.
• Collaborate with subject‑matter experts and agency leadership to develop training.
• Support professional and leadership development initiatives.
• Serve as project lead on assigned training or development projects.
• Maintain training documentation and ensure information remains current.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least three years of experience providing educational, training, or instructional services.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication and presentation abilities.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office proficiency.
