Training Coordinator – Training & Development

About the role

The Training Coordinator will plan, deliver and evaluate training and development programs for conferences and seminars, ensuring that sessions run smoothly and meet the learning objectives of law‑enforcement and related agencies.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate scheduling of training facilities, conference registrations, exhibitors, resources and instructors.
• Provide technical and administrative support for executive leadership and development initiatives.
• Identify, develop and manage subject‑matter experts who create curricular content.
• Communicate program details, policies and procedures to diverse audiences.
• Mentor new instructors and maintain a pool of qualified trainers.
• Attend planning committees and network with law‑enforcement trainers statewide and nationally.
• Update and maintain GA POST training records and ensure compliance.
• Observe training sessions and recommend improvements for content and delivery.
• Meet deadlines to keep classes at capacity and manage logistical arrangements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Criminal Justice, Business, Communications, Education/Adult Learning or related field (preferred).
• Minimum five years of experience in training, facilitation or a comparable combination of education and experience.
• Valid Georgia driver’s license.
• Preferred certifications: Georgia POST Instructor Certification, Basic Law Enforcement Certification.
• Proven ability to plan, organize and coordinate multiple events or projects.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience using spreadsheets and other software to record training data.
• Operation of audiovisual and teleconferencing equipment.
• Use of mobile application platforms and databases for training management.
