Trainer – Mining Safety & Compliance

About the role

Red Dog Operations is seeking a dedicated Trainer to deliver safety and regulatory training for its workforce. You will work on a rotating schedule, spending two weeks on‑site at the mine and two weeks off‑site, ensuring all employees meet MSHA standards and internal competency requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, update, and deliver training materials aligned with trade knowledge and safety requirements.
• Complete required reporting and paperwork in accordance with Red Dog Operations standards.
• Provide safety task training and ensure compliance with MSHA regulations before employees perform work.
• Organize and facilitate MSHA regulatory courses (New Miner, Annual Refresher, Experienced Miner).
• Deliver supervisory and developmental courses such as Reasonable Suspicion, Fatigue Management, Mental Health, and Respectful Workplace.
• Facilitate classroom sessions, assess trainee competency, and measure performance against objectives.
• Report training status to management and maintain communication with on‑the‑job supervisors.
• Set annual personal goals aligned with departmental objectives and participate in performance reviews.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of experience in mining or a related industry.
• At least three years of demonstrated training, leadership, or coaching experience.
• Ability to obtain or already hold a “blue card” as an MSHA‑approved instructor.
• Strong commitment to safety and working knowledge of MSHA standards.
