Train Engineer

About the role

The Train Engineer is responsible for safely operating locomotives, performing routine inspections, and ensuring optimal train performance. This individual contributor role offers a competitive pay rate of $42.95, day‑one benefits, and a referral bonus.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct pre‑ and post‑run inspections of the locomotive.
• Operate the train safely between stations while monitoring gauges such as air pressure, battery charge, amperage, and speed.
• Troubleshoot minor breakdowns and perform basic maintenance as needed.
• Identify and propose operational improvements, and participate in their implementation.
• Wear required personal protective equipment and adhere to all safety policies.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Occupational license – Certified Train Operator.
• Ability to lift 40 lb, stand for long periods, and work in noisy, dusty environments.
• Strong customer‑centric attitude, high energy, and sense of urgency.
• Willingness to travel as required.
