Trailer Mechanic

About the role

R+L Carriers is looking for a skilled Trailer Mechanic to join its Lakeland, FL Service Center. This full‑time position involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of trailers to ensure safe and reliable operation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform safety inspections and prepare required documentation in compliance with FMCSA and other regulations.
• Diagnose mechanical issues, repair or replace defective parts, and conduct preventive maintenance on trailers.
• Test equipment for proper performance and verify that work meets manufacturer specifications and legal standards.
• Maintain accurate work orders using the Cetaris Maintenance Work Order System.
• Operate yard tractors and trailers as needed and assist with climate‑controlled work environments.

Required profile

• Proven experience performing safety inspections and documenting compliance.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals and work instructions.
• Physical ability to lift at least 50 lb and work in varying climate conditions.
• Own set of tools and a dependable work ethic.
