Trailer Mechanic – Full‑Time (2nd/3rd Shift)

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking a dedicated Trailer Mechanic to join its Ellenwood, GA Service Center. The role works the 2nd and 3rd shifts, Monday‑Friday, performing diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on a fleet of trailers.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct safety inspections and prepare required FMCSA documentation.
• Diagnose mechanical issues using technical manuals and testing equipment.
• Repair or replace defective parts, components, and systems.
• Perform trailer preventive maintenance (PM) and routine repairs.
• Maintain accurate work orders in the Cetaris Maintenance Work Order System.
• Lift up to 50 lb, use personal tools, and work in varying climate conditions as needed.

Required profile

• Proven experience with trailer safety inspections and FMCSA compliance.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals.
• Hands‑on experience repairing Class 8 commercial vehicle trailers.
• Dependable, able to work independently on shift schedules.
• Own a complete set of personal tools.
