Trailer Mechanic – Full-Time (Maybrook, NY)

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking a skilled Trailer Mechanic to join its Maybrook, NY Service Center. The position is full‑time, Monday through Friday, with a shift from 4:00 pm to 2:30 am. You will be responsible for keeping the company’s trailer fleet safe, reliable, and compliant.

Key responsibilities

• Perform safety inspections and prepare required documentation in accordance with FMCSA and other regulations.
• Diagnose, repair, replace, and maintain trailer components, including brakes, axles, lights, and composite panels.
• Execute preventive maintenance (PM) tasks and complete work orders using the Cetaris system.
• Test equipment to verify proper performance and compliance with manufacturer specifications.
• Lift and handle parts up to 50 lb and work in varying climate conditions as needed.

Required profile

• Proven experience conducting safety inspections and maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Hands‑on experience repairing or replacing defective trailer parts and performing PMs.
• Own set of tools, dependable work ethic, and willingness to work in diverse weather.
