Trades Technician III – Sign-On Incentive

About the role
The Facilities Management Division of Orange County Government is seeking a skilled Trades Technician III to join the team at the 33rd Street Maintenance office. This journeyman‑level position offers a $1,000 sign‑on incentive and the stability of a public‑sector career.
Key responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems up to 480 V, including lighting, power distribution, panels, motors, fire alarms, and generators.
- Perform plumbing, HVAC, locksmithing, carpentry, masonry, audio, and telecommunications work as needed.
- Conduct building inspections to ensure compliance with safety and performance standards.
- Coordinate with staff, vendors, and contractors to deliver high‑quality service.
- Mentor and train lower‑level technicians while tracking work schedules.
Required profile
- Journeyman‑level experience in multiple trades, especially electrical work.
- Ability to work independently under general supervision.
- Strong commitment to safety, professionalism, and customer service.
