Trade Finance Sr. Analyst

About the role

The Trade Finance Sr. Analyst will manage letters of credit for importers and exporters, ensuring accurate processing, regulatory compliance, and timely client support. This position is central to Santander's trade finance operations in Miami, requiring meticulous attention to detail and strong knowledge of international trade documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Issue, advise, confirm, amend, transfer, and cancel letters of credit.
• Review LC applications for completeness and compliance with UCP 600, ISBP, and internal policies.
• Examine shipping and commercial documents, identify discrepancies, and communicate findings to clients and correspondent banks.
• Process payments, acceptances, negotiations, and reimbursements related to documentary credits.
• Maintain accurate records, monitor expirations and maturity dates, and reconcile trade finance accounts.
• Screen transactions for sanctions, AML/KYC compliance, and manage operational risk escalations.
• Serve as primary client contact, providing guidance on documentary requirements and coordinating with relationship managers and operations teams.
• Participate in process‑improvement initiatives and support audit activities.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to mitigate operational and compliance risks.
• In‑depth knowledge of international trade documentation and regulations (UCP 600, ISBP).
• Experience with AML/KYC standards and sanctions screening.
• Excellent communication skills for client interaction and internal coordination.
