Tool Technician

About the role

1 Resource Group is recruiting experienced Tool Technicians for a client in Evansville, Indiana. The work is in a repair shop where candidates troubleshoot and repair industrial tools and equipment. The pay is $18.00-$19.00 per hour depending on experience.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, maintenance, adjustments, testing and repairs on industrial equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair small gas engines
• Repair and service pneumatic, electric, hydraulic and contractor tools and equipment
• Complete work orders, repair documentation and parts requests accurately
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area
• Plan and complete assigned work with minimal supervision
• Follow safety policies, procedures and quality standards, and provide professional customer service
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational school training preferred
• Experience repairing industrial tools and equipment preferred
• Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and to handle overtime and occasional after-hours emergency work
• Own hand tools required (bench equipment provided)
• Physical demands: standing most of the day, lifting up to 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally, good hand-eye coordination

Required skills

• Preferred: experience with chain hoists, chain pullers, pneumatic tuggers and winches, pneumatic impact tools, electric and pneumatic power tools, electric threaders and milling equipment
• Moderate knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical repair techniques
• Ability to obtain an internal forklift certification
