Tool Room Supervisor

About the role

The Tool Room Supervisor is responsible for supervising and supporting the tool room and press room that serve OTTO’s stamping production, ensuring tooling performance and minimal downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise die design, maintenance, and scheduling of production and new die tryouts.
• Build, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain progressive dies and related tooling.
• Maintain tooling records, order supplies, and manage die changeovers.
• Ensure quality compliance and oversee preventative maintenance of tool room equipment.
• Train tool and die apprentices within the apprentice program.
• Collaborate with engineering and production to maximize tooling performance.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of tool and die stamping production experience.
• At least 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Ability to lift and move 50 lb with assistance.
• Willingness to work mandatory overtime or non‑standard schedules.

Required skills

• Progressive die design knowledge.
• Statistical Process Control (SPC) familiarity.
• Proficiency with inspection equipment and blueprint reading.
• Understanding of tool steels and stamping materials.
• Machining and precision form grinding capabilities.
