Tool Maker – New Ulm

About the role

The Tool Maker position at 3M in New Ulm supports the production of a wide range of products by building, repairing, and maintaining molds and dies. You will work with plastic and rubber injection molding, high‑speed stamping, and various assembly equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Drive continuous improvements in tool builds and repairs.
• Support production processes for products such as water filters, hard hats, respirator components, and ear plugs.
• Provide documented ideas to reduce maintenance costs, improve operations, and increase equipment reliability.
• Follow safe working methods and 3M safety rules at all times.
• Collaborate with colleagues to achieve plant and company goals.

Required profile

• Associate degree or technical diploma in Machine Tool Technology (completed before start).
• Five or more years of experience building, repairing, or maintaining molds or dies.
• Ability to operate all manual tool‑room equipment safely and efficiently.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with problem‑solving ability and ability to lift heavy materials.
