Tool & Fixture Design Engineer – Manufacturing

About the role

Moog is seeking a Tool & Fixture Design Engineer to join its Industrial Group in Buffalo, NY. The role focuses on developing, optimizing, and sustaining manufacturing tooling and processes to drive efficiency, quality, and cost‑effectiveness.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and validate production tooling, jigs and fixtures for machining and assembly.
• Create detailed CAD drawings and models for tooling and fixturing.
• Collaborate with machining, quality and production teams to ensure process capability and repeatability.
• Oversee fabrication, testing and continuous improvement of tooling.
• Develop and improve manufacturing processes for new and existing products, including routing, equipment selection and capacity planning.
• Support prototype builds, pilot runs and production launches, and provide troubleshooting assistance.
• Maintain work instructions, SOPs and ensure compliance with safety, ISO and regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
• Three or more years of experience in tool design or manufacturing engineering.
• Hands‑on experience with tooling, fixturing and CNC machining environments.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software.
• Experience with CAM programming.
• Knowledge of CNC machining processes.
• Process planning and PFMEA.
• Familiarity with ISO quality standards.
