Title I Secondary Math Instructor (Part‑Time)

About the role

Proximity Learning seeks a passionate Title I Secondary Math Instructor to deliver free supplemental math instruction to high‑school students in Chicago-area Catholic, Christian, Lutheran, and independent schools. This part‑time, in‑person role focuses on closing achievement gaps and strengthening foundational math skills.

Key responsibilities

• Provide small‑group, pull‑out math instruction to struggling secondary students.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to align lessons and extend classroom learning.
• Develop and implement lesson plans aimed at improving academic performance.
• Motivate attendance and create a positive, achievement‑oriented learning environment.
• Continuously assess student progress and adjust instruction and grouping as needed.
• Complete required compliance forms and adhere to Title I guidelines.
• Communicate regularly with Proximity Learning management, school staff, and families about student progress.

Required profile

• At least one year of experience as a classroom teacher, tutor, or resource personnel.
• Reliable transportation to the school site (or willingness to relocate).
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Ability to meet deadlines and pass a background check.
