Tissue Culture Lab Technician – 2nd Shift

About the role

Ohalo Genetics is looking for a motivated Tissue Culture Lab Technician to join the 2nd shift (3 pm – 11 pm) in South San Francisco. The role supports micropropagation and plant tissue‑culture operations while ensuring lab safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform micropropagation and meristem isolation procedures.
• Transfer plant cells and tissue cultures according to specifications.
• Prepare and dispense culture media following established protocols.
• Label culture vessels and manage inventory of plant varieties.
• Operate autoclave and maintain sterile lab conditions.
• Clean lab equipment and materials regularly.
• Safeguard proprietary plant varieties and confidential information.
• Assist Lab Leadership with additional tasks as needed.

Required profile

• Enjoy working with plants and a hands‑on laboratory environment.
• Detail‑oriented, well‑organized and able to keep accurate records.
• Proactive approach to routine tasks and ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Capable of working independently and collaboratively across departments.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 lb intermittently and sit for extended periods.
• Prior plant tissue‑culture experience is a plus, but on‑the‑job training is provided.
