Tire Mechanic

About the role

We are looking for a Tire Mechanic to join our Norwalk service center, maintaining and repairing tires on our class‑8 fleet vehicles. The role involves both shop‑based work and on‑road service calls, ensuring safe and reliable tire performance.

Key responsibilities

• Mount and dismount truck and car tires, including retreads and new tires.
• Operate truck balancers and 1‑inch air wrenches to balance and tighten wheels to company standards.
• Perform on‑site tire repairs and replacements on class‑8 tractor‑trailers.
• Identify tire types, fasteners, and out‑of‑service criteria according to DOT regulations.
• Drive service trucks to customer locations and complete service calls.
• Maintain a clean driving record and adhere to safety protocols.

Required profile

• At least one year of commercial tire experience.
• Ability to lift up to 125 lb and stand on concrete for extended periods.
• Current operator’s license and clean motor vehicle record.
• Basic knowledge of DOT tire information and out‑of‑service criteria.
• Capability to work in a fast‑paced environment and follow management directives.

Required skills

• Understanding of DOT tire regulations.
• Service truck operation for on‑road calls.
