Tire Mechanic – Full‑Time

About the role

RLC is seeking a full‑time Tire Mechanic to join its Wilmington, OH service center. The position offers a competitive hourly rate of up to $31.28, various shift options, and a week of vacation after 90 days of employment.

Key responsibilities

• Change, repair, and maintain tires on Class 8 tractor‑trailer fleet vehicles.
• Mount and dismount truck and car tires safely and efficiently.
• Operate on‑ and off‑truck balancers and a 1‑inch air wrench.
• Perform service calls on the road using a service truck.
• Ensure all repairs meet company standards and out‑of‑service criteria.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of commercial tire experience.
• Ability to lift up to 125 lb and stand on concrete for extended periods.
• Clean motor vehicle record and good driving history.
• Current operator’s license.

Required skills

• Commercial tire mounting and dismounting.
• Operation of truck balancers and air wrenches.
• Knowledge of tire DOT information and out‑of‑service criteria.
• Ability to differentiate retread from new tires and identify wheel types and proper fasteners.
• Proficiency with basic hand tools and tire repair techniques.
