Tier 2 Systems Administrator

About the role

The Tier 2 Systems Administrator reports to the IT Director and is responsible for delivering, supporting, and continuously improving IT services across a multi‑site chemical manufacturing environment (three locations, ~100 users). The role blends advanced technical expertise with hands‑on user support to ensure system stability, a strong user experience, and reliable operations in office, plant, and laboratory settings.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advanced Tier 1/2 end‑user support across all locations, taking full ownership of issues through resolution and escalation.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, applications, cloud services, and devices, including laptops, desktops, iPads, industrial PCs, and production‑floor equipment.
• Perform root‑cause analysis and implement preventative improvements to maintain high user satisfaction.
• Administer and enhance Microsoft 365/Office 365 services (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive) and Azure AD (identity, access, MFA, licensing).
• Manage network infrastructure (HPE/Aruba switches, wireless, VLANs, VPNs).
• Support key business platforms: NetSuite ERP, MaintainX CMMS, Canary Historian, and QBench LIMS.

Required profile

• Strong technical capability with a practical, user‑focused approach.
• Experience supporting mixed office, plant, and laboratory environments.
• Ability to interact with third‑party vendors and operate within regulated industrial settings.
