Testing Technician – Production & Quality Assurance

About the role
The Testing Technician joins Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division in Minden, LA, to ensure that production processes and finished units meet engineering, company, and customer specifications. Working 54 hours per week with occasional Saturday overtime, the role focuses on inspection, testing, and documentation across multiple production areas.
Key responsibilities
- Inspect and test production processes and finished units for compliance with engineering drawings, customer specifications, and Quality Travelers.
- Support commissioning activities such as HVAC HMI/PLC programming, Li‑ion Tamer testing, fire‑control operation, HVAC start‑up, troubleshooting, and load‑bank set‑point control.
- Perform energized testing including breaker operation with arc‑flash PPE, MCC/switchgear/VFD power‑up, Prime PLC communication, UPS testing, and OEM troubleshooting coordination.
- Coordinate testing team activities, safety meetings, JHA/MOP completion, and training.
- Document discrepancies, initiate hold or stop‑work actions, and process non‑conforming material through DMR using 8D, 5‑Why, or A3 methods.
- Record inspection and test results in Quality Travelers and daily reports for NCR reporting, KPI tracking, and audit readiness.
Required profile
- Experience inspecting and testing production processes in an industrial environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, Quality Travelers, SOPs, and NEC requirements.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and use of required PPE.
- Effective communication skills for cross‑functional coordination and documentation.
