Test Design Engineer

About the role

Moog’s Military Aircraft Group is seeking a Test Design Engineer to develop and validate test solutions for high‑performance aerospace products. Based onsite in Buffalo, NY, you will work closely with design, production and test teams to ensure reliability, safety and performance standards are met.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build test equipment, including interface designs, wiring diagrams, rack layouts and power distribution systems.
• Create custom test interfaces and integrate COTS instruments such as signal generators, multimeters and power supplies.
• Develop test software using LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, Python, C/C++ and C#.
• Design circuit cards with Cadence OrCAD/Allegro and mechanical fixtures with SolidWorks, NX or similar tools.
• Maintain, troubleshoot and calibrate test systems and electronic cards, supporting Gage R&R validation.
• Provide technical support for test equipment assembly and documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with at least 4 years of test equipment design experience, or Master’s degree with 2 years.
• Strong knowledge of closed‑loop control systems and circuit‑level functional testing.
• Proven ability to work with both hardware and software in a test environment.

Required skills

• LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, Python, C, C++, C#.
• Cadence OrCAD, Allegro, SolidWorks, NX, Visio.
• Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio, Notepad++); familiarity with Microsoft Project.
