Territory Sales Manager (Ohio, West Virginia, Michigan)

About the role

M&H Valve Company, part of McWane, Inc., is looking for a Territory Sales Manager for Ohio, West Virginia and Michigan. The role covers all aspects of sales, marketing and account management for the territory, growing market share and expanding the distributor base while delivering quality customer service. The position is salaried, requires about 75% travel and living in the territory or willingness to relocate.

Key responsibilities

• Build relationships with distributors, engineers and municipalities and study their volume
• Execute the company's pricing strategy for assigned accounts and prepare quotations or bids
• Submit weekly reports on market conditions and use the assigned software to document customer interactions
• Troubleshoot product issues in the field and by phone, and act as liaison between end users, customers and the company
• Train distributor salespeople on products and marketing, and participate in trade associations, seminars and trade shows
• Monitor competition and communicate regularly with the National Sales manager

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree preferred; five years of industrial sales experience, preferably in waterworks, or completion of the McWane Sales Trainee program
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record that can be insured
• Self-motivated, able to negotiate and close deals with a strong customer service attitude
• Able to read technical documents, write reports and present to groups, and to calculate figures such as discounts and percentages
• Physical and visual ability to examine complex mechanical products; occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds

Required skills

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Knowledge of inventory, manufacturing and order processing software
