Terminal Operator Trainee

About the role

This entry‑level position provides hands‑on training to become a qualified terminal operator. You will work on a busy bulk‑liquid terminal, handling chemicals and other products safely while learning core operational procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Follow company policies and regulatory directives for safe handling, storage and transfer of bulk liquids and chemicals.
• Physically connect and disconnect hoses to containers such as totes, iso‑containers, railcars, barges and vessels.
• Operate utility systems, machines, cranes and environmental control equipment.
• Validate product transfers for inventory control and complete required paperwork for the Traffic Department.
• Provide emergency response services and perform tank and line cleaning.
• Displace liquids from pipelines using pigging tools and pressurised air or nitrogen.
• Participate in job‑specific training and classroom education to advance to higher operational levels.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Physical ability to perform strenuous labor, including lifting up to 75 lb and working outdoors in varied climates.
• Basic mathematical ability and familiarity with industrial safety and emergency procedures.
• Ability to read and follow work orders accurately.
