Terminal Operator Trainee

About the role

The Terminal Operator Trainee will support safe handling, storage, and transfer of bulk liquids and chemicals at our terminal. This entry‑level position provides hands‑on experience with hoses, tanks, pipelines, and a variety of utility equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Follow company policies and regulatory directives for safe product handling.
• Connect and disconnect hoses to totes, iso‑containers, trailers, railcars, barges, and vessels.
• Operate utility systems, machines, cranes, and environmental control equipment.
• Validate product transfers, complete paperwork for inventory control, and support the Traffic Department.
• Provide emergency response services and perform tank and line cleaning.
• Displace liquids in pipelines using pigging tools and pressurized air or nitrogen.
• Participate in job‑specific training and demonstrate competence for advancement.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Physical ability to perform strenuous labor, lift up to 75 lb, and work outdoors in varying climates.
• Basic mathematical ability and familiarity with industrial safety procedures.
• Ability to read and follow work orders accurately.

Required skills

• Operation of utility systems and equipment.
• Crane operation.
• Pipeline pigging and use of pressurized air or nitrogen.
