Tenure-Track Faculty Position – Law Professor

About the role

The LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center is seeking tenure‑track or tenured faculty members to join its distinguished law faculty. Candidates may specialize in criminal law, civil and comparative law, intellectual property, law and technology, or related fields.

Key responsibilities

• Teach law courses as assigned by the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs (approximately 34% of workload).
• Maintain an active research agenda, publish regularly, and present findings at conferences (approximately 33%).
• Mentor law students in research projects and scholarly activities (approximately 33%).
• Participate in departmental, college, and university service activities appropriate to rank (approximately 33%).

Required profile

• J.D. from an ABA‑accredited law school.
• For Assistant Professor: JD only; for Associate Professor: JD plus at least 2 years as an Assistant Professor; for Full Professor: JD plus at least 5 years as Assistant or Associate Professor.
• Superior academic credentials, demonstrated practice experience, and a strong record or potential for legal scholarship.
• Commitment to high‑quality teaching and student mentorship.
