Tenure Track Faculty Position

About the role

The Jefferson Moss Rehabilitation Research Institute (JMRRI) seeks a tenure‑track faculty scientist to develop and lead an independent research program in human translational neuroscience and neurorehabilitation. The appointment is in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at Sidney Kimmel Medical College, Thomas Jefferson University, and provides dedicated laboratory and testing space on the Elkins Park campus.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage a research program aligned with JMRRI’s focus on cognition, emotion, language, and motor control in acute and degenerative neurologic conditions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary laboratories across the institute and with external partners such as the University of Pennsylvania.
• Utilize state‑of‑the‑art neuromodulation, EEG, motion‑capture, robotics, and neuroimaging equipment for data collection.
• Recruit participants from JMRRI’s research registry and the Moss TBI Model Systems database.
• Publish findings in peer‑reviewed journals and pursue external funding.

Required profile

• PhD with a strong record of research productivity and independence (candidates at all career stages are encouraged to apply).
• MDs or clinician‑scientists with a substantial research track record are also considered.

Required skills

• Experience with neuromodulation techniques.
• Proficiency in EEG data acquisition and analysis.
• Knowledge of motion‑capture systems.
• Familiarity with robotics platforms for neurorehabilitation research.
• Ability to work with neuroimaging modalities (e.g., MRI, fMRI).
