About the role
The Lifeguard position supports Campus Recreation at Yates Field House by monitoring pool activities and ensuring the safety of all users. This temporary role requires vigilance, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to respond quickly to emergencies.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor pool activities and enforce all safety guidelines.
- Remain alert throughout the shift to prevent incidents.
- Prepare activity and incident reports.
- Perform routine pool maintenance as needed.
- Assist with emergency rescue and medical procedures.
Required profile
- Current Red Cross or YMCA Lifeguard certification (including CPR Professional Rescuer and First Aid).
- Self‑motivation and strong communication skills.
- Excellent customer service orientation.
- Commitment to attend at least two in‑service trainings each year.
