About the role
SUNY Plattsburgh is seeking three temporary lecturers to join its Social Work Program. The appointment begins in Fall 2026, lasts one year, and may be renewed for a second year. Lecturers will teach undergraduate (BSW) and graduate (MSW) courses, both on‑campus and in distance‑learning formats.
Key responsibilities
- Teach four courses (12 credits) each semester across the BSW and MSW curricula.
- Deliver instruction using in‑person, hybrid, and asynchronous online modalities.
- Review applications for the MSW program and serve as a field liaison when assigned field seminars.
- Participate in department meetings, initiatives, special events, and other assigned tasks.
- Provide student advisement and contribute to departmental, school, and university service.
Required profile
- Graduate degree in Social Work (MSW or equivalent) and relevant teaching experience.
- Demonstrated ability to teach diverse student populations and adapt to multiple instructional modalities.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in academic settings.
