Temporary Lecturer – Social Work (3 openings)

About the role

SUNY Plattsburgh is seeking three temporary lecturers to join the Social Work Program. The appointment begins in Fall 2026 for one year, with the possibility of a one‑year renewal. Candidates will teach undergraduate and graduate courses and support both on‑campus and distance‑learning formats.

Key responsibilities

• Teach 12 credits (four courses) each semester across BSW and MSW curricula using in‑person, hybrid, and asynchronous online modalities.
• Review applications for the MSW program and serve as a field liaison when assigned field seminar courses.
• Participate in department meetings, initiatives, special events, and other duties that enhance departmental effectiveness.
• Provide student advisement and contribute to school‑wide service activities.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in Social Work (MSW or higher) with a strong academic record.
• Demonstrated teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching and service.
• Ability to maintain a consistent on‑campus presence at the Plattsburgh location.

Required skills

• Proficiency in delivering instruction through in‑person, hybrid, and online platforms.
