Technology & Market Assessment Manager Americas

About the role

The Technology & Market Assessment Manager Americas will lead technical development and market analysis for BASF’s Catalysts division in Houston. You will combine technology management of alumina, copper, PGM and nickel catalyst applications with strategic market assessments to drive growth across the Americas.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the technical development of customer proposals, tenders and bids.
• Represent the technical value proposition in customer discussions and presentations.
• Ensure high customer satisfaction by supporting start‑ups and monitoring catalyst performance.
• Act as the primary technical contact for customers on operational issues.
• Own the catalyst and technology portfolio and drive innovation with R&D teams.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with Marketing, Sales and Operations.
• Translate market and customer needs into technical requirements.
• Conduct strategic market assessments and evaluate business segments.
• Define and drive growth strategies, including pricing and innovation plans.
• Initiate relevant R&D activities aligned with growth opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or a related field (advanced/PhD preferred).
• Experience in catalyst technologies or process‑engineering environments.
