Technician Lead, Labs – Bay Area

About the role

The Technician Lead will act as the bridge between high‑level engineering objectives and daily shop‑floor execution within DoorDash Labs. You will spend the majority of your time hands‑on, performing complex robotic diagnostics and repairs while guiding the team to meet uptime and output targets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the team to achieve fleet uptime and repair goals, personally handling the most complex diagnostics.
• Perform advanced component‑level troubleshooting on electrical systems, control units, and related hardware.
• Own and continuously improve service‑center workflows to boost repair accuracy and shop efficiency.
• Document technical procedures and shift handovers to set a “Gold Standard” for the technician team.
• Drive medium‑to‑high complexity projects that directly impact fleet reliability, from planning to execution.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of service‑work experience, preferably in vehicle or fleet service.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license with a clean Motor Vehicle Record.
• Strong communication and documentation abilities.
• Experience with work‑order management systems and a drive to build scalable solutions.

• Base salary $37.80–$55.50 USD per hour, based on location and experience.
