Technician I – Molding & Tooling Engineering

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Technician I to support its Molding & Tooling Engineering team at the Sinking Spring, Pennsylvania facility. The role focuses on precision mold tooling, machining support, and injection‑molding processes to ensure high quality, uptime, and efficient production.

Key responsibilities

• Manufacture and modify production tooling using manual machines (milling, grinding, lathe) and CNC equipment.
• Program and operate CNC machines with G‑code/M‑code and CAM software.
• Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings to produce accurate parts.
• Troubleshoot tooling issues, minimize downtime, and resolve production backlogs.
• Set up machine tools, fixtures, and execute machining processes according to drawings.
• Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with GxP and SOP requirements.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience in machining or tooling.

Required skills

• Milling, grinding and lathe operation.
• CNC machining and machine setup.
• G‑code/M‑code programming.
• CAM software usage.
• Blueprint and GD&T interpretation.
• Tooling troubleshooting and problem solving.
• Fixturing and part machining to drawing specifications.
• GxP and SOP documentation compliance.
