Technician, Financial Aid

About the role

The Financial Aid Technician serves as the first point of contact for students seeking assistance with financial aid at the Griffin Campus. Working under the Assistant Director of Financial Aid, you will help students navigate applications, provide status updates, and ensure smooth daily operations of the office.

Key responsibilities

• Assist students in completing all types of financial aid applications and provide updates on their status.
• Open and close the Office of Financial Aid each day, managing front‑desk phones, email, and ticketing system.
• Evaluate applications and supporting documents for accuracy, clarity, and completeness to determine basic eligibility.
• Update Banner Financial Aid forms and related software throughout the document intake process.
• Instruct students on proper procedures for completing forms and applications.
• Analyze application status and refer complex cases to the appropriate Financial Aid Specialist.
• Provide general financial aid information to students, parents, and the public.

Required profile

• High school diploma/GED with at least one year of related work experience.
• Associate’s degree and two years of related experience preferred; experience may substitute for the degree.
• Experience working in a financial aid office or similar administrative setting.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, tact, patience, and courtesy.
