Technician 1 (2nd Shift 4p-12:30a)

About the role

Oerlikon is looking for a Technician 1 for its Rock Hill, SC facility, working the second shift (4p-12:30a). The technician sets up and monitors the coating machines, preparing the coating system, loading and unloading the chamber, changing magnetic systems and entering process parameters. The role also covers pre-treating customer products with standardized methods and assembling chamber loads to customer specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily changeover maintenance of pre/post treatment equipment and optimize the daily use of production equipment.
• Follow standard procedures and interpret customer work instructions.
• Operate and maintain coating equipment according to specifications, using fixturing and defixturing techniques to build and breakdown loads.
• Maintain and update equipment records and assist with quality assurance and other technical matters.
• Collaborate with Quality and Center Management to identify and address quality concerns.
• Provide training and assistance to employees on equipment operation and maintenance, and learn new skills and cross-train into other departments.
• Perform other duties as required to assure customer satisfaction.

Required profile

• High school graduate or GED or equivalent experience; prior machine operator experience preferred.
• Ability to work safely with a variety of chemicals and gases.
• Physical demands: frequent reaching with hands and arms, standing for long periods, lifting items up to 40 pounds, and concentration on detailed tasks.
• Strong work ethic, detail-oriented, energetic and goal-driven.

Required skills

• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Effective verbal and writing skills and strong communication skills.
