Technical Superintendent

About the role

Patriot Maritime is seeking a Technical Superintendent to oversee the safe, efficient and economical operation of its fleet. Reporting to the Director of Operations/Technical Management, you will work closely with vessel officers, classification societies and USCG personnel to ensure equipment reliability and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage technical operation of assigned vessels, reviewing performance reports and engineering logs.
• Monitor maintenance schedules, equipment history and overdue jobs in the NSE system.
• Develop and recommend improvements to maintenance cycles and equipment life‑cycle plans.
• Prepare worklists, work orders and coordinate voyage repairs, including on‑scene vessel management during hull or machinery failures.
• Conduct regular ship visits to inspect machinery spaces, propulsion, cargo handling equipment and deck areas.
• Liaise with manufacturers, repair specialists and service technicians to meet vessel requirements.
• Assist in preparing technical and HSEQ budgets and evaluate shipboard engineering personnel.

Required profile

• Proven experience in marine engineering or vessel technical management.
• Strong understanding of classification society rules, USCG regulations and maritime safety standards.
• Ability to analyze performance data and drive continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication skills for coordination with senior officers and external partners.
