Technical Project/Program Manager – SmartStart Mayan Automation

About the role

The SPG Mayan Automation Engineering Manager leads Mayan‑based automation initiatives supporting tool installation and warranty phases, partnering with BU Intelligence, Engineering, Quality and Field organizations to improve consistency, reduce warranty exposure and drive scalable automation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of engineers responsible for Mayan automation programs across SPG business units, aligning with installation and warranty objectives.
• Own end‑to‑end execution of Mayan automation for installation and warranty phases, from problem identification through deployment and benefits realization.
• Partner with BU Intelligence and Install/Warranty stakeholders to identify pain points, warranty drivers, repeat non‑conformances and cost‑reduction opportunities.
• Oversee development and continuous improvement of test plans, Mayan scripts, diagnostics and troubleshooting workflows to improve system reliability.
• Develop and manage program plans, track KPIs such as install efficiency, defect escapes and warranty cost trends, and communicate status to cross‑functional leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 5–7 years of experience in technical program management, manufacturing, installation or field support, preferably in semiconductor or capital equipment.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional, matrixed teams and operate in fast‑paced, ambiguous environments.
• Willingness to travel 10–30%, including international travel.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of semiconductor capital equipment systems (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, vacuum, process).
• Experience with test automation, system installation, diagnostics and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with manufacturing/operational platforms such as SAP, iOMS, Smart Factory and Mayan.
• Analytical and data‑driven decision‑making abilities.
