About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials engineering solutions for semiconductor and display manufacturing, is seeking a Technical Project/Program Manager in Austin, TX. The role will lead project planning, execution, and cross‑functional coordination to deliver on‑time, on‑budget solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare project plans and coordinate the attainment of deliverables from planning through implementation, maintaining a matrix for process improvements.
• Drive project deliverables and task details using reports, tracking charts, and checklists.
• Align internal resources to achieve on‑time, within‑budget performance objectives for each project.
• Monitor and report project cost performance to the business unit.
• Participate in intra‑business‑unit design teams to complete projects.
• Contribute to the team’s technical development in pursuit of project goals.
• Research causes of project obstacles and assist in implementing resolution solutions.

Required profile

• Demonstrates conceptual and practical expertise in own discipline with basic knowledge of related fields.
• Understands best practices and how the area integrates with others; aware of competition and market differentiators.
• Acts as a resource for less‑experienced colleagues and may lead small projects with manageable risks.
• Solves complex problems, brings new perspectives, and exercises judgment based on multiple information sources.
• Impacts a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within own and related teams.
• Effectively explains difficult or sensitive information and works to build consensus.
