Technical Project/Program Manager III

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking an experienced Technical Project/Program Manager to lead cross‑functional teams in new product manufacturing and commercialization. The role is based in Austin, TX and focuses on delivering manufacturing operations excellence for semiconductor and display technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a matrixed team of engineers, material project managers, DFX engineers, supplier engineering, procurement, and program managers to meet manufacturing milestones.
• Coordinate pilot manufacturing, resolve operational issues, and align with product management to execute commercialization strategies.
• Analyze designs with engineering to improve volume manufacturability and manage risk exposure through production maturity assessments.
• Develop and present high‑level program status and strategic overviews to senior leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (Mechanical/Electrical preferred) with an MBA.
• 6‑8 years of project or program management experience, preferably in the semiconductor industry.
• Strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills to influence diverse stakeholders.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, resources, and risk in complex, time‑critical programs.
