Technical Product Support Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Technical Product Support Engineer to provide on‑site technical assistance for semiconductor equipment, ensuring optimal fleet performance and supporting customers throughout the product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Manage technical support for assigned customers, handling escalations, fleet performance monitoring, system installations, upgrades, and improvement programs.
• Act as the field escalation focal point, providing documentation and guidance to field engineers, technicians, and product support personnel.
• Deliver Alpha Site support for engineering installations, calibrations, and testing of new hardware, software, or processes.
• Provide Beta Site support on customer tools, overseeing installation, operation, calibration, and service of new designs.
• Review Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to ensure data integrity and communicate fixes to the field.
• Generate and present system performance metrics such as MTBF, MTBI, and availability, and support documentation creation (CENs, BKMs).

Required profile

• Demonstrated expertise in technical support for complex equipment and a solid understanding of related disciplines.
• Knowledge of industry best practices, competitive landscape, and integration of support activities across teams.
• Ability to lead small projects, mentor less‑experienced colleagues, and solve complex problems using multiple information sources.
• Strong communication skills to convey technical information and build consensus with customers and internal teams.
