About the role
Join Applied Materials as a Technical Product Support Engineer III, providing expert technical assistance for semiconductor equipment at customer sites. You will work closely with customers, field engineers and internal teams to ensure optimal system performance and successful deployments.
Key responsibilities
- Responsible for technical support at a specific customer, including escalations, fleet performance, installations, improvement programs and upgrades.
- Act as field escalation focal point between customer and division, providing documentation to field engineers, technicians and product support personnel.
- Provide Alpha Site support for engineering installations, calibrations, service and testing of new hardware, process or software designs.
- Provide Beta Site support for customer tools, handling installation, calibration, service and testing of new hardware, software or processes.
- Initiate and review Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to ensure data supports fixes and communicate to the field.
- Generate and present system performance data such as MTBF, MTBI and availability, including process data and I/W spending analysis.
- Create and review documentation for technical improvements, system upgrades and support plans, and present them at the customer level.
Required profile
- Demonstrates conceptual and practical expertise in own discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines.
- Understands best practices, integration with other areas, and competitive landscape.
- Acts as a resource for less‑experienced colleagues and may lead small projects with manageable risk.
- Solves complex problems using analysis of multiple information sources.
- Impacts customer, operational, project or service activities across teams while working within broad guidelines.
- Communicates difficult or sensitive information effectively and builds consensus.
