Technical Manager

About the role

Greencore is seeking a Technical Manager for its Boston site in the East Midlands. You will be responsible for ensuring that all materials and finished products meet food safety, legislative, and customer specifications while supporting a safe and productive manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the technical function, guaranteeing product safety and compliance with HACCP principles.
• Maintain technical governance to satisfy internal, external, legal and customer audit requirements.
• Investigate deviations from process or specification and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor departmental KPIs, drive improvements and ensure targets are met.
• Engage with customers during site visits, audits and business reviews.
• Provide leadership to keep the team safe, engaged, and developing their potential.
• Uphold health, safety and environment standards within the department.

Required profile

• Experience working in a high‑care food manufacturing environment.
• Degree‑level education in Food Science, Food Technology or a related microbiology qualification.
• Relevant certifications such as Advanced Food Hygiene Level 4 and Level 4 HACCP.

Required skills

• Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) implementation.
• Advanced food hygiene knowledge (Level 4).
• Food safety compliance and audit preparation.
• Microbiological testing and analysis.
