Technical Instructor

About the role

Moog is seeking a Technical Instructor to join its Space & Defense team in Blacksburg, Virginia. You will design, deliver, and continuously improve technical training that equips employees with the skills needed to support aerospace and defense manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute training strategies aligned with business goals and AS9100 quality standards.
• Create curriculum, course materials, and job aids for a range of technical topics.
• Deliver classroom and hands‑on instruction using adult‑learning principles.
• Research and apply new training techniques and technologies to boost knowledge retention.
• Assess learning needs and measure training effectiveness across the organization.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years of manufacturing experience, or an associate’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience.
• Prior experience in training, coaching, or mentoring technical staff.
• Ability to clearly explain processes such as soldering, crimping, safety‑wire installation, and product inspection.
• Understanding of the AS9100 Quality Management System.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
• Professional demeanor when interacting with diverse personnel.
