About the role

Applied Materials seeks an experienced Technical Commodity Business Management professional to lead commodity strategies for semiconductor, cleaning and coating materials. The role involves shaping supplier relationships, driving cost‑reduction initiatives and ensuring alignment with product lifecycle processes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, align and implement commodity strategies across semi, cleaning and coating categories.
• Negotiate and manage supplier agreements, overseeing the full supplier lifecycle.
• Resolve systemic supply‑chain issues affecting quality, cost, delivery or lead‑time, including sub‑tier engagement.
• Identify and present high‑level cost‑reduction opportunities and drive supplier performance improvement plans.
• Conduct formal supplier performance reviews and approve improvement actions.

Required profile

• Recognized technical expert in commodity management with deep discipline knowledge.
• Ability to anticipate business and regulatory issues and recommend process improvements.
• Proven leadership of high‑risk, complex projects and development of execution strategies.
• Strong problem‑solving skills for unique, business‑wide challenges.
• Excellent communication skills to influence senior stakeholders and drive change.
